Shortly after opening an ancient Egyptian tomb, members of an English-American museum expedition start dropping off like flies. Can it truly be the Pharaoh's curse? Poirot travels to Egypt to unravel the mystery.
Hercule Poirot is called upon to solve a series of mysterious deaths that are centered around the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. Sir John Willard died moments after he and a group of archaeologists entered an ancient tomb. The expedition's physician, Dr. Ames, concluded it was a heart attack but soon other members begin to die in mysterious circumstances. One dies of blood poisoning from a relatively mild cut while another dies of tetanus. One member who has returned to New York has taken his own life. Rumors are soon circulating that an Egyptian curse is felling all those who desecrated the ancient tomb. "迷信的力量真的是一种非常强大的力量."是的,所以阿婆大概从当年轰动一时的"法老的诅咒"找到了创作灵感.可惜情节设置凡善可陈,平淡无奇,以至于被埃及背景下另一部著名作品的光芒所掩盖.大概是译者也脚的它挺可怜,于是将名字坑爹的翻译成....尼罗河惨案也是希望能沾点光吧(￣▽￣")
鸟为食亡，人为财死，只不过这次用了埃及法老的诅咒来掩饰
